SAP ABAP Consultant Roles and Responsibilities  


Are you going to learn SAP ABAP? ,have you already learnt ABAP ? do you want know Roles and
Responsibilities of ABAP Consultant in the real time SAP Project .I know ,every developer has the curiosity what will be his part in developing ABAP objects .For that purpose i have shared that information.

Roles and  Responsibilities of ABAP Consultant

You should know what is ASAP Methodology and coding standards of ABAP language and Performance Checking tools to develop high quality objects.

Designing technical specification by looking at the functional specification you have received.

Usually senior developers having 3 years or more than 3 years of experience involves in preparing technical specifications.

Remember the development work starts after the technical specification is approved by your team leader.

In unit test case document, we will write the output results and test cases performed on the developed object.

Peer Review if you are a senior developer you can perform peer review.

I.e reviews the code written by your peers.

The above mentioned are the major roles and responsibilities for a technical consultant.

Perform code review and single point of contact for all ABAP developments.

SAP ABAP Consultant Efficiency

Ability to write and validate the technical specification and able to create test scripts The candidate will be responsible for Technical analysis, designing, reviews, testing an implementation of SAP developments, ranging from small enhancements to large projects Ensure compliance to existing, and development of required data and reporting standards.

Support production configuration and assist in functional change requests.

Assist initial testing of problem fixes, change request, enhancements, and new functionality.

Keep abreast of SAP releases, enhancements/new functionality and perform application research.

Perform break/fix analysis and recommend solutions for finance related processes.

Develops technical specifications and works with BASIS and functional experts to complete object development and testing May lead and coordinate the work of a small development team Provides leadership in the development of functional skills in others through active knowledge sharing Understands and applies methodologies and procedures.
